Picture of the Day: Minneapolis

I visited my daughter in Minneapolis recently. I was there for the last mild day of the year and then it promptly dropped down to 8*F the last day I was there.

I really liked the downtown area and was able to walk and explore a good bit. I took a picture of a bridge over the Mississippi River with a cool reflection that I really liked. Not bad for an iPhone 8!

Picture of the Day: Snoqualmie Falls

Snoqualmie Falls, Washington

A beautiful waterfall made famous by the tv show Twin Peaks!

We got to stop by Snoqualmie on our way from Seattle to Mt Rainier and it was worth every second!

Picture of the Day: Seattle From Space Needle

Looking down on downtown Seattle from the Space Needle! You can see the mountains in the distance and the Space Needle’s reflection in the glass!

The line seems long but moves quickly and has interesting history of the Space Needle along the way. I would recommend a visit to the top for any Seattle tourist! More info here.

Thanks!

Picture of the Day: Navy Circle

Navy Circle is a part of the Vicksburg National Military Park. It is conveniently located right next to the Mississippi rest area.

During the Civil War, the Confederates located cannons here to fire on Union gunboats in the Mississippi River. Nowadays it’s a great view of the Mighty Mississippi.

I especially liked the view between the two bridges over the Mississippi River. rk

Picture of the Day: Sunset in Saguaro National Park

We’ve shared the sunsets in Saguaro National Park before, but they never seem to disappoint. I caught this one a few days ago off of the Bajada Loop Drive. rk

Picture of the Day: Snowy Sandias

Sandia Peak rises 5,000 feet above Albuquerque, New Mexico and well into spring can have snow atop the peak. The views are incredible and despite being a popular weekend spot you can often find the peak void of people on weekday mornings.

Picture of the Day: San Antonio

San Antonio is a beautiful town. The Riverwalk is fabulous and the old Spanish history and architecture is just fascinating. One of my favorite places to visit. rk

The Alamo

Cathedral of San Fernando

Picture of the Day: Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse

The Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse is one of the most photographed things in Acadia National Park and for good reason! The Lighthouse is perched perfectly picturesque on the edge of Mt. Deserts rocky shore and it has become a symbol for the eastern United States’ first National Park.

Picture of the Day: Grand Canyon Sunset

The Grand Canyon is a magical place to be at sunset. As the sun sets over the horizon the light is sucked out of the canyon but not before it puts on one last show of reds and oranges lighting up the massive canyon. Every second the light changes and will put your focus on another one of the infinite rock formations before you. The Grand Canyon isn’t just a place to see but to experience and every day there is an unforgettable experience. If you haven’t been to the Grand Canyon then get out and go right now.
